Description
For Timber
AITHON PV 33 at ambient temperature is a perfectly transparent varnish, with a warm looking wax finish to exploit the timber natural beauty. In a fire it reacts generating a thick layer of carbon char able to withstand heat above 1000°C, and protect timber structures up to 60 minute
Tested
15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes FIRE RESISTANCE on wooden beams, columns, slabs and walls. (ENV 13381-7 e EN 13501-2) Class B-s1,d0 (best result on organic substrate - ETA 15/0424 - EN 13501-1:2005) Class A (best result) in the tunnel test (ASTM E84)
Historical buildings
Using AITHON PV33 it is possible to upgrade the fire resistance class of historical buildings and protect in the same time their ancient beauty saving the original timber frame. This also reduces the environmental impact of the restoration works
New buildings
In new buildings fire resistance is achieved oversizing timber beams and columns to compensate the wood thickness which is carbonized by fire. Reducing the carbonization speed, AITHON PV33 allows to reduce timber oversizing, saving cost and weight of the timber frame.
